Mr. Carter has been the Music Director of the Fresh Winds Ensemble for 3 years. He hold a B.A. Degree in Music, B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering and a MBA. He has over Twenty (20) year’s experience as a Woodwind (Saxophone, Flute) instructor and the Jazz Band director for the DC Music Center, a non-profit music school formerly located in Washington, DC. He also has 14 years of experience as the director of the DC Music Center where he supervised the implementation of the music program. As a freelance performer, Mr. Carter has led his own jazz bands; and have performed in local and national R&B and Jazz bands including jazz legend, Cab Calloway, pianist/organist Doug Carn, trumpeter Webster Young, Greater U Street Jazz Collective and the O’Jays R&B group! Mr. Carter is currently the Basic Piano and Music Survey Instructor at
CMIT Academy North High in School in Laurel, MD.
